Stamp- part seven

Hello again and welcome to my Wednesday WIP.

I've been busy editing "Stamp" and working on "A Flip of the Coin" this week, in between schoolwork, snow-sculpting and car trouble. For once, I've set myself a deadline that I might actually keep in finishing my short story collection by the end of March. All but one story is drafted, and I'm making good use of my wonderful beta-readers to keep on top of edits and improvements. I'm feeling very organised, which is a bad sign. Plate-spinning is not normally my strength but maybe this old dog (easy now) is learning a few new tricks after all!

Anyway, enough about me. I know why you're here today. You want to find out what happens next, right? You've read about Ben and his fall-out with Tim, and you're wondering if they'll ever be friends again, and how Ben's life is working out post-Cassie. Most of all, you're wondering what the stamp is for... read on for another piece of the puzzle.

Beware the wum-wums...

I hate Mondays. Today has been a hum-dinger but I'm sure, one day, I will look back and smile wryly. One day...

Let me tell you my tale of Monday misfortune- and please try not to laugh.

Velvet Snow

Feeling cold and nostalgic this morning- brrr! Too chilly (and snotty) to go out and play today, and I've got work to do... so I watched this to cheer myself up while I drank my Lemsip.

Here's a golden-oldie of Harvey playing in the snow a couple of winters ago. We spent the morning playing, then I spent the afternoon drinking hot chocolate and making this. Happy days! Much more fun than hot lemon and planning 'sigh'. Hope you enjoy it x

Friday Five- 5 totally amazing snow sculptures

Greetings, my little snow-bunnies!

Sorry to be predictable, but I just cannot avoid talking about snow this week. We British are reputed to be obsessed with weather, but it's because we have soooo much of it- and the prettiest of all is the sparkling-white stuff. It turns the dullest of dead-end towns into winter wonderlands and brings out the kid in most of us. I still get that tingly excitement when I wake up and find my street has been transformed overnight into a beautiful snow-globe. Squeeee!

So, feeling inspired, I looked up some amazing things to create with snow. Maybe you could try one this weekend?

Stamp- part six

Hey, it's Wednesday! How is your week going so far? Poor old Ben is not doing very well: Cassie's gone, his boss is on his back and, to top it all, he has a mysterious stamp on his hand that stubbornly refuses to wash off. Surely things can only get better? Read on to find out..

Friday Five- Five songs on my ultimate playlist

What's your favourite song? How I dread that question... I change my mind on a more than daily basis, depending on my mood, the weather, recent events or even something I've seen that's sparked off a random lyric recollection. Because of this, I was amazed and inspired by a series of tweets from @welshboy69 where he attempted to list his top 50 albums. Albums? I'd struggle to settle on my top 50 songs, let alone actual full albums with all their accumulated gems and the occasional filler. I could probably narrow it down to a top ten at best.

I tried compiling a top ten of my favourite songs and it changed six times over the course of four drafts. I gave up. These songs, however, were always up there somewhere on my Desert Island Disc list, and I will never get bored of them. Here they are, and here are the reasons why I adore them.

Stamp- part five

Wednesday again! I love Wednesdays- it feels like we're over the hump of the week and ready for an easy slide down towards the weekend. It's also WIP Wednesday day. I look forward to it, and I know some of you do too. I shan't keep you waiting and, if you've read this far already, you know where to look to refresh your memory so I'll just include a link to the last installment. Remember, I value your feedback on this so please do post comments and tell me what you think.

This will be our year!

A belated Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

I've had a lovely long rest- I hope you haven't missed me too much. I'm sure you were all too busy stuffing your faces, playing with your new toys and arguing with your relatives- you know, a proper family Christmas. Like they have on Eastenders. Or not...
